Exotic Pre-Purchase Inspection Checklist
A pre-purchase inspection is the cheapest insurance you will buy on a six-figure car. Here is what a thorough exotic PPI actually checks, and why each item can save you from an expensive mistake.
Mechanical
- Clutch wear (read from transmission data where supported)
- Engine, gearbox, and differential condition and leaks
- Cooling system and known model-specific weak points
- Brake and tire wear, including carbon-ceramic measurement
- Road test for drivability, noises, and faults
Documentation
- Complete, verified service history
- Major-service and cam-belt / clutch records
- Title and ownership history review
- Open recalls and outstanding campaigns
Cosmetic
- Paint-meter readings for repaint and bodywork
- Panel-gap and accident-evidence review
- Wheel, interior, and trim condition

Frequently asked
How long should an exotic PPI take?
Plan on a multi-hour inspection. A six-figure decision deserves time on a lift, a road test, and a documentation review, not a quick once-over.
Can you inspect a car I'm buying out of state?
Yes. We provide documented, photographed inspections for remote buyers shipping a car from South Florida.
