— Pre-Purchase Inspection
Porsche Pre-Purchase Inspection

Whether it is an air-cooled 911, a modern turbo, or a Cayenne, a Porsche PPI is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy. We perform a full mechanical, cosmetic, and documentation review before you commit.
What the Porsche PPI covers
- IMS bearing and bore-scoring exposure on M96/M97-era cars (996, early 997, Boxster/Cayman)
- Coolant-pipe and bore-scoring checks on 997 Turbo and Cayenne
- Rear main seal (RMS) and engine leaks, plus chain-tensioner concerns on air-cooled cars
- PDK fluid/health or manual clutch condition
- Carbon-ceramic (PCCB) or steel brake and tire wear measurement
- Full fault-code scan, road test, and accident-evidence review
Era and engine matter
A 996 with the original IMS bearing, a bore-scoring-prone 997, and a modern 992 are very different risks. We inspect to the documented issues for your specific engine and generation, and verify the major-service history.
Frequently asked
Do you inspect older air-cooled 911s?
Yes, along with water-cooled 911s, the 718, Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera. We tailor the inspection to the model and era.
Can you do a PPI on a car at a dealer?
In most cases yes, by arrangement with the selling dealer. We can also collect for inspection at our Davie shop.
