An oil and filter service is the quietest form of preservation. On a BMW M8, it means the right grade, the correct volume, and a genuine filter, nothing left to assumption. The work is simple. Doing it to specification, every time, is not.
Work performed
- Drained warm oil fully and replaced the sump plug with a fresh sealing washer
- Installed a genuine oil filter element and renewed its seals
- Refilled with the manufacturer-specified synthetic oil to the correct grade and volume
- Reset the service interval and confirmed oil level at operating temperature
- Inspected for leaks at the drain plug and filter housing after a brief warm-up
- Documented the service and noted any items worth watching at the next visit
